One of Royal Caribbean’s Vision Class cruise ships, Rhapsody of the Seas is back from a 2012 refurbishment, boasting modern digital way-finders about the ship, a full refit throughout the many staterooms, new services, eateries and lounge areas. The ship has been described as too big to be truly intimate, yet too small to compete with many of the other ships in the Royal Caribbean Cruises fleet. Dining on board Rhapsody of the Seas caters to all passenger tastes; you can enjoy the formal experience of traditional cruise-dining in the main restaurant, or dine at your own leisure in the buffet style Windjammer. As well as these two main dining areas, there are a number of themed and specialist eateries that designed to take your fancy, Royal Caribbean chefs provide an excellent level of service and cater for specialist dietary requirements.
The main dining experience on board Rhapsody of the seas is to be had in the Edelweiss Dining Room.
This white, floral trimmed, decadent dining hall offers guests daily menus and chef specials, the service in the Edelweiss if first class, whilst the atmosphere retains the relaxed cruise appeal the surroundings and table service is very much the classic cruise style. Do visit in the evening when the lighting transforms the architecture of the Edelweiss into a dazzling, jewelled masterpiece.
Visit the Windjammer Cafe, for “in your own time dining”. This buffet style restaurant is open all day serving hot and cold dishes, with a huge selection to choose from you’ll always find something you like. The Windjammer can get busy at peak times of the day due to its popularity with guests; do prepare to queue during some peak times.
Recently added restaurants to Rhapsody of the Seas include, Izumi, Chop’s Grille, Giovanni’s and the Park Café.
Izumi is a Japanese themed restaurant that you’ll find on deck 12, above the Viking Crown Lounge. In this intimate space, with stunning views from the ship you can choose from popular sushi rolls, sashimi, Hot Rock (Ishiyaki) Plates, sukiyaki and more.
Chops Grille steakhouse, one of Royal Caribbean’s signature restaurants is a luxury dining experience at an affordable price. Tuck into dishes such as filet mignon and mesquite-grilled salmon, with a wide selection of dishes avail able you’re sure to be left wanting more. Do book your reservation early to avoid disappointment.
Giovanni’s Table is an Italian style restaurant offers dishes with a Tuscan flair, sample some focaccia and fresh pesto, Zuppa di Porcini, Gnocchi di Patate, Lasagna Tradizionale and more. Set in a casual atmosphere; book your table early to avoid disappointment.
Park Cafe is an informal deli-style restaurant, a great place to meet fellow passengers, unwind with a tea or coffee and enjoy watching the world go by.
The main evening entertainment on board Rhapsody of the Seas is at the Broadway Melodies theatre, here you can enjoy Broadway style theatre performances and audiences with special guests. Rhapsody of the Seas has received many online comments regarding the success of these performances in comparison to other ships that neglect to fully entertain their passengers.
For active passengers Legend of the Seas comes with many facilities to exercise, there is a jogging track on deck 10, plus an outdoor rock climbing wall if you really want to get an adrenaline rush. There is a sports deck on deck 9 whereby you can also take a trip to the Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Centre, or take a dip in one of the many whirlpools and ease those muscles.
Staterooms are having recently been refurbished are modern, bright, very clean and come with flat screen TV/ radio, mini-bar, en-suite shower facilities, vanity area and 24 hour room-service.
