Grandeur of the Seas is one of six ships in Royal Caribbean’s Vision Class fleet and sister ship to
Enchantment of the Seas. She has a sleek classic cruise-ship design mixed with a contemporary, modern look with the Viking Crown lounge sitting atop of the ship surrounded by two decks of glass panelling. Returning to the seas having recently received a refit (Navantia shipyard 2012) Grandeur of the Seas will seem like a brand new ship. She now has five additional dining venues, a new nursery, technological upgrades such as flat screen TV’s in stateroom and digital signage throughout the ship, a large pool-side LED screen, a refresh of all furniture, upholstery and staterooms. Included is a new entertainment feature – spectacular aerial displays in the Centrum. The 65ft high space now sees acrobats perform dazzling displays suspended from the top of this futuristic space.
Dining onboard Grandeur of the Seas is plentiful, with something to please everyone, Royal Caribbean chefs always offer alternative dietary menus to meet today’s range of passenger tastes and requirements, if you have a specific need, don’t be afraid to ask.
The main dining experience onboard Grandeur of the Seas is the Great Gatsby dining room. Adorned with a statue of Daisy Buchanan at the foot of the stairs, this open two-tiered dining hall offers consistently first class dishes from its daily menu, all served in a traditional cruise table service style.
For a casual, anytime eating head to the Windjammer Café. This informal dining experience appears on all Royal Caribbean ships, it’s the favourite place for passengers to create their own menu.
Open all day this buffet style restaurant is very popular at peak times of the day, this does make it a great place to meet fellow cruise passengers and socialise.
A new addition to Grandeur of the Seas is the popular restaurant Chops Grille. A Royal Caribbean signature restaurant, you’re in for a luxury dining experience, tuck into dishes such as filet mignon and mesquite-grilled salmon, with a wide selection of dishes available matched with speciality wines, you’re sure to be left wanting more. Do book your reservation early to avoid disappointment.
Another new addition to Grandeur of the Seas is Giovanni’s Table, an Italian style restaurant offers dishes with a Tuscan flair, sample some focaccia and fresh pesto, Zuppa di Porcini, Gnocchi di Patate, Lasagna Tradizionale and more. Set in a casual atmosphere; book your table early to avoid disappointment.
Visit the Park Café, this informal social space is the ideal meet-up place for passengers, whilst enjoying a wide range of coffee and teas as well as a lite bites menu.
With the Royal Caribbean signature lounge, the Viking Crown Lounge being updated during the refit take some time to visit this relaxing, social space. The stunning views from the Viking Crown have to be seen to be believed.
Evening entertainment on-board Grandeur of the Seas starts with the lavish and golden Palladium theatre; catch Broadway style shows, musicals or audiences with special guests. Do check times and shows once you board the ship as they may be subject to change.
For the active passenger set your heart racing with a view from the top of the outdoor climbing wall. An on board fitness gym and running track are available for your regular fitness routines, but make sure to take some time to relax in the swimming pool, one of the many whirlpools, or unwind in the on-board Grandeur Day Spa.
Staterooms are having recently been refurbished are modern, bright and clean and come with flat screen TV/ radio, mini-bar, en-suite shower facilities, vanity area and 24 hour room-service.
