Overview

The fourth incarnation of a “P&O Arcadia” and third largest vessel in the current P&O fleet, Arcadia is a middle-weight cruise ship, voyages are restricted to adults only – with a strict policy of no under 18s, so she is suitably named, “Arcadia” literally means a sanctuary offering peace. That’s what you should expect from the moment you board, to put your feet up and be at peace.

Life on-board is decadent and contemporary, one of Arcadia’s unique points is the number of art pieces she has on-board, some 3,000 pieces by British artists – Arcadia is a floating city come art-gallery.

Interiors are designed to look and feel like the classic British cruising of the 1920’s and 30’s, Arcadia was after all almost Queen Victoria of Cunard fame.

Staterooms on-board may seem small but each comes equipped with a flat-screen TV in each room, coffee/ tea-making facilities and the overall atmosphere is comfortable and accommodating.

Dining on Arcadia is as bountiful as you would find on any other P&O ship, the main restaurant The Meridian is a two tier spacious room, beautifully adorned with chandeliers, dining is accompanied with music tinkled from a grand piano. For a spicy change you might want to venture into the Orchid Restaurant for some Asian infused cuisine, the views from here are panoramic and spectacular.

As well as a taste of the Orient you can also casually dine at the Ocean Grill a Marco Pierre White creation. There is also The Belvedere, a buffet style service open all hours.

Arcadia also boasts a three-tier Palladium theatre where-by you can take in some of the fantastic cabaret acts that P&O organise. Make sure you take some time to visit the Crow’s Nest. Whether you enjoy classical music or not, the classical concerts performed here – the atmosphere in the Crow’s Nest suits the music-genre perfectly and you’ll feel your troubles slide away.

If you need yet more relaxation visit The Retreat, Arcadia has on-board Yoga and Tai-Chi classes, this is also a great way to meet new people and share experiences. Arcadia is brimming with gym equipment and pampering treatments to keep yourself toned and feeling great during your indulgent voyage.
