When she was launched Majesty of the Seas was amongst the largest cruise ships in the world. Now she is dwarfed by her fellow RCL ships, Majesty has since become one of the smallest ships in the Royal Caribbean International fleet. She regularly sails out of Miami, Florida (RCL’s home) to voyage the Bahamas, often stopping off at Royal Caribbean’s private island retreat CocoCay, one of the Berry Islands close to the popular destination of Nassau.
While Majesty of the Seas positions herself to cater to all types of cruise passenger, she appeals to many first time cruisers. With short cruises planned for much of her itinerary she is an ideal ship to voyage with in order to get a taste of what cruising is all about. Many passengers and repeat passengers have commented on the friendliness and helpfulness of the on-board staff. RCL pride themselves in the excellence of their service and the consistency of this high standard whether you cruised on-board Majesty over ten years ago or just last week.
She may feel like a small ship, but there is still plenty to do on-board to keep guests entertained. RCL ships now come with an outdoor rock-climbing wall on deck 12. Majesty also features a running track, basketball/ volleyball court, and sizeable spa and fitness centre “Vitality at Sea”. If you fancy something less active then there is plenty of pool-side space and you could always take a dip in one of the whirlpools. When you are done relaxing you could have a flutter at Casino Royale, with many slot machines, poker and black-jack tables available.
Dining on-board Majesty of the Seas is quite laid back with many eateries offering fast food or buffet service. Windjammer Café is a great place to eat out in your own time. If you are a family group you’ll enjoy Johnny Rockets the RCL signature 50’s style American Diner. For the on-board formal dining experience you’ll need to head to the Starlight Dining Room on deck four. Perhaps afterwards you’ll retire to watch a Broadway show at the Chorus Line 2-tier lounge, or catch a live music act at the Spectrum Lounge.
Staterooms on-board are quite small in comparison to other Royal Caribbean ships so if you have travelled with Royal Caribbean International before, do take this into consideration if this is to be your first time on Majesty of the Seas. Staterooms are clean and well-kept and come with TV/ radio vanity areas, en suite shower rooms and 24 hour room service.
