Liberty of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, second in line of the Freedom Class family; launched in 2007 she enjoyed a brief spell as one of the worlds largest cruise ships. The title finally being displaced by Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class ships (Allure and Oasis of the Seas) launched in 2008 and 2010.
Liberty of the Seas welcomes all cruise passengers aboard, although with her up-scale, contemporary amenities the ship is largely geared towards cruising for families and young cruisers. The on board atmosphere is laid back and caters towards a modern cruise lifestyle. Traditional cruising enthusiasts need not worry; you will find a blend of old meets modern aboard and any cruise with Liberty of the Seas will be one to remember.
The main dining experiences onboard Grandeur of the Seas are to be found in one of the three luxurious dining rooms, Rembrandt (deck 3), Michelangelo (deck 4) and Botticelli (deck 5). Dine on consistently first class dishes from daily menus and chefs specials on offer, all served in traditional impeccable cruise service style.
For a casual, anytime dining head to the Windjammer Café. This informal eatery is a firm favourite place for passengers to create their own meals in the open all day buffet style restaurant. A great place to meet fellow cruise passengers and socialise, do be prepared to queue at some peak times as the Windjammer can get very busy.
Chops Grille, the Royal Caribbean signature restaurant offers guests the opportunity to dine upon steaks, grilled meat and fish dishes all cooked to perfection. Chops Grille is a very popular evening destination, so do book your table early to avoid disappointment. For a delicious taste of Italy with a range of meals designed to share guests should pay a visit to Sorrento’s Pizzeria, these specially prepared pizzas are made with authentic ingredients.
For adventurous and young cruise passengers there is an opportunity to try out your climbing skills on the innovative out-door rock climbing wall. Passengers who are into surfing may like to try their skills on FlowRider, a surf simulator that allows you to ride simulated waves high above sea level. All levels of surfer are welcome, from beginner to expert.
Liberty of the Seas comes sails with the onboard Dreamworks Experience. The interactive experience primarily for family guests includes character meet and greets, character parades and table-side visits from characters during meals. The Dreamworks Experience includes characters from Madagascar, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and more.
Worth mentioning is the popular outside lounge space, Seven Hearts on deck 14, guests are invited to enjoy drinks and light meals in an informal, laid-back environment whilst taking in the stunning view from the ship.
For evening entertainment visit the lavish, Platinum Theatre, with Broadway style musicals, comedy nights, guest appearances and speeches. Do take some time to check out the show listings once on board Liberty of the Seas. Meet up with friends in one of the many themed lounge spaces. Good places to start your evening are the Schooner Bar, Bolleros or the Viking Crown Lounge. You may then wish to head to “Vegas” and roll the dice at Casino Royal.
