Freedom of the Seas truly is a floating city at sea, an enormous ship with a sleek, modern design. For adventurers and young cruise passengers there is an opportunity to try out your climbing skills on the out-door rock wall. If you are into your surfing, Royal Caribbean have provided FlowRider, a surf simulator that allows you to ride simulated waves high above sea level. This was the first ship at sea to feature its own wave making machine. Freedom of the Seas also features many bars, nightclubs and themed shows which make excellent evening entertainment.For the laid-back cruise passengers there are plenty of spas and whirlpools. There is a wealth of literature in the on-board library, add to that plenty of deck space to relax and read without feeling claustrophobic or interrupted by other activities going on.
Dining on-board, again, caters for all tastes of cruise passenger. The main formal dining experience is a chandelier topped three tier room, these decadent dining halls are categorised by their inventive names, Leonardo, Isaac and Galileo. The menus change each day and feature Chef’s daily specials as well as dishes created to suit those guests with specialised diets.
Chops Grille is a Royal Caribbean signature restaurant. Here you can dine upon perfect steaks and grilled meat and fish dishes. Chops Grille is a romantic and intimate restaurant, although classed as a formal eatery you will find the atmosphere calm and laid back; do book early to avoid disappointment. If you are a wine connoisseur, be sure to try Vintages as well, where after you have dined you can sample selected wines from all around the world.For something much more informal there is Sorrento’s Pizzeria, these are specially prepared pizzas made with authentic ingredients. If you have your children on-board you’ll probably spend your time eating at Johnny Rockets, a classic American style diner with fast, friendly food service, snack on burgers, fries and 50’s style milkshakes, humming to the tunes of the 50’s with your own jukebox-selector in each booth. There is also an onboard Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream parlour for those passengers with a sweet tooth and a penchant for ice-cream sundaes.
Accommodation on-board is a range of differing sized staterooms all come with en-suite bathroom, flat-screen TV and radio. All rooms are spacious and comfortable considering the number of passengers, as well as clean and very well kept by the exceptional staff.
ShipShape health spa includes all the facilities you will need to stay trim on-board. A generously equipped fitness centre as well as saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas for both men and women.
